community members. My goal for this website is to provide you with useful information
that will keep you informed and provide you with insights into the Airport Police
family.
The Los Angeles Airport Police Division is the premier aviation law-enforcement
agency in the nation. Our focus and dedication is to provide the public with
uninterrupted travel through Los Angeles International (LAX) and Van Nuys (VNY)
airports, with the comfort of knowing that you are protected as a passenger, visitor
or employee. We are grounded in the precept that we are a service organization with
a clear and distinct mission of serving the travelling public and the aviation community.
Los Angeles World Airports is in the midst of a multi-billion-dollar development
program at LAX that encompasses more than two dozen projects in the passenger
terminal area, including inside the terminals, on the roadways, and on the
restricted airfield. Two major projects, the New Tom Bradley International
Terminal and the Central Utility Plant Replacement, will significantly enhance
the passenger experience with iconic, state-of-the-art, environmentally sustainable
facilities. The Airport Police Division’s operations role has been and will continue
to be highly impacted as the many projects have been and will be completed.
Our organization is committed to hiring qualified police officers who are inspired
to serve the airport community. Our Recruitment Unit hosts several recruiting
events throughout the year to provide interested candidates with more information
and an opportunity to meet and speak with some of our officers. Testing dates are
also scheduled throughout the year for candidates interested in starting the process.
