THEME WAY IN CENTRAL TERMINAL AREA TO CLOSE THROUGH JULY 2022 TO SUPPORT PEOPLE MOVER CONSTRUCTION

Activity:

Beginning April 27, 2020, Theme Way will be closed through July 31, 2022 to support the construction of the Automated People Mover’s Central Terminal Area (CTA) Center Station and associated pedestrian bridges. Vehicles will use West Way or World Way to exit the CTA. FAA tower and Central Utility Plant (CUP) access will be maintained at all times. A special fire road has been constructed east of Parking Structure 6 to provide emergency vehicle access from South World Way.

From May 18 to May 23, the Theme Way closure will extend to Center Way to install a cast-in-drilled-hole foundation. During this closure, traffic exiting Parking Structure 2A will detour Center Way to West Way to exit the Central Terminal Area. Traffic control will be established to safely maintain bi-directional travel on Center Way between West Way and Theme Way.

Flaggers will be on site as needed to assist with pedestrian and vehicle traffic flow.
