LAX FLYAWAY® WESTWOOD SERVICE TO RELOCATE OPERATIONS CLOSER TO UCLA CAMPUS ON MARCH 18

Westwood service will arrive and depart from the northwest part of the intersection of Strathmore Place and Gayley Avenue, approximately one mile north of its current location. The service schedule will remain the same.
(Los Angeles, CA) On Monday, March 18, the FlyAway® bus stop in Westwood will move to its new location on Galey Avenue, just north of Strathmore Place on the east side of the street. The new location is adjacent to UCLA student housing and dormitories. Previously, the Westwood FlyAway® stop was a nearly 1-mile walk into Westwood Village from the campus. The new location's intersection also services Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LA Metro) buses, Santa Clarita Transit, LADOT, Antelope Valley Transit Authority commuter express buses, the Santa Monica Big Blue Bus, Amtrak Thruway, and FlixBus long distance service.

“When it comes to public transportation choices like the FlyAway bus, having a convenient location is critical,” said Gabriel Eshaghian, Commissioner, Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners. “The new FlyAway stop location in Westwood is easier for students and the greater Westside community to get to and provides an excellent option for our LAX guests and employees.”

"At only $10 per trip, the Westwood FlyAway continues to be an easy, cost-effective option for those coming and going to LAX from UCLA and the surrounding neighborhoods," said Keith Wilschetz, Deputy Executive Director for Operations and Emergency Management, LAWA. "The new location is now much closer to UCLA student housing, and also services a wide variety of regional transit authorities."

The service's schedule between the new bus stop location and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) remains unchanged. The regular schedule from the Westwood bus stop to LAX operates hourly from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day, including Sundays and holidays. One-way service to or from LAX is $10, though the fare will be discounted when using a Transit Access Pass (TAP) Card issued by LA Metro. EZ Pass holders can enjoy discounts on service based on the zone they paid for. See www.laxflyaway.org for more information.

In addition to the Westwood location, the FlyAway® provides direct service from four other locations across Los Angeles County: Hollywood, Long Beach, Union Station, and Van Nuys. More than 1.9 million people used the FlyAway® bus service in 2018.
