Carpooling is a great way to take vehicles off the highway, reduce pollution, save money and time! A recognized LAWA carpool consists of at least two persons who commute together a minimum of 10 days per month, or 50% of their working days, and must live along a direct route to work. Fifty percent or more of the distance from each member’s residence to his/her work location must be traveled together.

Here’s how to join the Carpool Program:

1. Find your carpool match. If you already have someone in mind, great! If not, reach out to Rideshare to be added to our Carpool Map and we can try to find a match with another employee who works in the LAX area based on your home address, work address, and start/end times. You may also create a profile on ridematch.info to find additional potential matches. If you’re commuting from the Inland Empire, check out the IE Commuter Program.
2. Apply for the Carpool Program. Complete the application (here) and send to rideshareinfo@lawa.org or drop off at the Rideshare Office at 7301 World Way West, 2^nd Floor, or the Skyview Office at 6053 Century Blvd, 4^th Floor.
3. If your application is completed and meets the qualifications above, your carpool group will be given a carpool hangtag to have access to preferred parking. Your group will also need to sign the Program Rules and submit your Carpool Log on a monthly basis.
